The ‘Gerundio’ Form: -ing suffix in english

Preface

The gerundio is the grammatical form with which we can describe on-going actions (in the various tenses). In the following chapters, we will discuss the tenses in which on-going actions can be described (present perfect continuous, past perfect continuous, etc.), though in this section we shall only discuss the technical construction of the Spanish gerundio.

In order to conjugate –AR verbs in the gerundio form, we remove the –AR suffix and replace it with –ANDO.
