Interrogative Phrases that Do Not Contain Interrogatives
Similarly to English, an interrogative sentence in Spanish will have a verb before the subject pronoun.
1. You-all are wet Ustedes están mojados 2. Are you-all wet? ¿Están ustedes mojados? 3. You are French Tú eres francés 4. Are you French ¿Eres tú francés?
1. Word order in Spanish is very flexible, therefore it is very common to use the affirmative form with the intonation of a question, e.g. ¿(Tú) eres francés? 2. Spanish interrogative sentences have an upside-down question mark (¿) in the beginning of the sentence to indicate where the question begins.
